I had the good fortune to come across this song on the MLGE Facebook group
The Hollies are a band that I wasn’t aware existed until I had the good fortune to come across this song on the MLGE Facebook group! It’s so wonderful!

The Hollies are a band that is new to me but they’ve been together apparently a very long time. Honestly, this song just blew me away with its sincerity and strength. It’s such a beautiful call to be in the right mind and a prayer of deep appreciation for our brother (The Son of God.) This song reminds me of the ACIM lesson “I am not a body. I am free. For I am still as God created me.” I’m so grateful that God’s Son and my brothers are one and the same!

Lyrics:

The road is long, with many of winding turns
That lead us to (who knows) where, who knows where?
But I’m strong, strong enough to carry him – yeah
He ain’t heavy – he’s my brother
So long we go, his welfare is my concern
No burden is he to bear, we’ll get there
But I know he would not encumber me
He ain’t heavy – he’s my brother
If I’m leaving at all if I’m leaving with sadness
That everyone’s heart isn’t filled with the gladness
Of love for one another.
It’s a long, long road, from which there is no return
While we’re on the way to there, why not share?
And the long doesn’t way me down at all
He ain’t heavy – he’s my brother
He’s my brother – he ain’t heavy – he’s my brother …
